This research project’s focus is establishing effective conservation strategies for grassland bird communities in bioenergy production systems while maximizing productivity of the agricultural landscape. This research is funded by the Department of Energy. A portion of this research is dedicated to understanding Nebraska farmers and landowners’ perspectives on diversifying their agriculture systems with alternative bioenergy crops. A long-term goal of the project is to enhance the relationship between landowners and conservation efforts by incorporating sociological and ecological research.
