Conservation programs such as CRP are critical for wildlife habitat, particularly in the Nebraska’s Rainwater Basin. However, the general opinion of many landowners is that such programs may not be cost effective to their operation. This project involves contacting landowners in the Rainwater Basin and conducing phone interviews to learn about producers’ attitudes about conservation programs, their history of enrollment, and perspective on what might make enrollment more appealing.
