Participant Study Title: Characteristics of the Nebraska Fishing Guide Industry

The purpose of this research is to gather information on recent guided fishing experiences, personal guiding philosophies, fishing opportunities provided by fishing guides, and how fishing guides influence anglers. If you are a paid fishing guide and are 19 years of age or older, you may participate in this research.

Participation in this study will require approximately 20 minutes. You will be asked to answer multiple-choice and open-ended survey questions regarding the study topics. Participation will take place at any location with internet access.

Society may benefit by better understanding how fishing guides can influence the education, recruitment, retention, and reactivation of anglers.

Reasonable steps will be taken to protect the privacy and the confidentiality of your study data; however, in some circumstances we cannot guarantee absolute privacy and/or confidentiality. Research records will be stored electronically through University approved methods. Records will only be seen by the research team and/or those authorized to view, access, or use the records during the study. After the study is complete, data without identifiable information may be shared for future research.

We will be collecting data from you. We would like to make your data available for other research studies that could be done in the future. That research may be about similar topics, but the topic may also be very different. These studies could be done at the University of Nebraska-Lincoln or at other places, including businesses. Our goal is to make more research possible. We will protect your data as much as we can. We will replace data that can identify you with a code before we share it with other researchers. We will not give them the code.
