Nebraska Creel Project

The Nebraska Creel Project is a collaborative initiative aimed at collecting comprehensive data on recreational fishing across the state. Led by the University of Nebraska-Lincoln, in partnership with the Nebraska Game and Parks Commission, this project uses on-site angler surveys to gather information on fishing effort, catch rates, harvest, and angler satisfaction. These data help fisheries managers make informed decisions about population trends, habitat needs, and regulatory strategies.

By fostering an open dialogue between anglers, researchers, and wildlife agencies, the Nebraska Creel Project promotes shared stewardship of our aquatic resources and encourages sustainable fishing practices. Through ongoing surveys and analysis, the project strives to enhance angler experiences while preserving Nebraska’s fisheries for future generations.
